35MM GLASS SLIDE: UNION PROJECTIONIST (NR)

Description

Available here for sale is a 2-inch by
2-inch glass slide containing a black & white film frame taken from a 35mm
theatrical trailer which once was used to announce that:
THIS MACHINE
OPERATED BY A
UNION
PROJECTIONIST
MEMBER OF IATSE AFFILIATED WITH
THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF LABOR.
(The IATSE logo is also included.)
Trailers with this announcement were once run as part of the film
programs in theaters that wanted their patrons to know that they were using
IATSE union projectionists.
This slide
came from the estate of an old-time San Diego projectionist. (When the trailer
became too short to be projected anymore, he made up a glass slide using a
single 35mm frame.)
The film frame was
printed on safety stock and is mounted in a heat resistant 35mm glass slide
mount that will work in any standard 35mm slide projector.
It will be securely packed and shipped via USPS
first class mail with tracking. This is a unique item that you won’t see turn
up very often.
It’s been priced to sell,
so if you are a current or former union projectionist or would just like to add
a little authenticity to your home theater screenings, this is something that should
be in your collection.
