Ikat is the process through which threads are tie-dyed before weaving takes place. When the fabric is woven, any section of the material will have a somewhat frayed pattern between the dyed and un-dyed colors.
This beautiful indigo Baule fabric is hand woven traditionally by local Baule artisans in Ivory Coast. Baule fabric can be used for different purposes, such as indoor design (blanket, throw, pillowcase tapestry, and curtains). Or in fashion design (dresses, scarves, shawls, head wraps, and clothing).
For cleaning, we recommend gentle dry cleaning to preserve the character and authenticity.
